Why ‘Love On The Spectrum’ Season 3 Has More Couples Than Ever

When 22-year-old Pari Kim first watched “Love on the Spectrum,” she saw hope. “Maybe I could be on that,” Kim remembers thinking. “Now, I am.”

Created by Cian O’Clery, the reality series follows adults across the autism spectrum, like Kim, in their pursuit of love.

After first launching in Australia, the series moved to the U.S. in 2022 and has resulted in long-term relationships, including fan-favorites Abbey Romeo and David Isaacman.

For Kim, who is on the autism spectrum and calls her diagnosis a “superpower,” she feels the show dismantled the myths and misconceptions about autism.

“It just made me so happy, and my heart warm and hopeful. We don’t always get the representation we deserve,” she says.

Beyond positive representation, the show also led to lasting love for Kim. She is one of many cast members on Season 3 of “Love on the Spectrum: U.S” to meet a match through the producers’ blind dates.

Read on to find out more about the couples of Season 3 and why a producer said this season stood out.

Which couples from Season 3 of ‘Love on the Spectrum’ are still together?

Season 3 of “Love on the Spectrum” led to a number of couples who are still together now.

Romeo and Isaacman are going strong and opened up about their relationship in an interview with TODAY.com.

The couple said they already feel like they’re married, even though they haven’t yet taken that step. “We already feel like we’re married from the inside,” Romeo says.

“We are not ready to do the real thing yet,” Isaacman adds.

Romeo also explains why she wrote that show-stopping song she performed at the end of the season. “It’s because I’ve always wanted a boyfriend and now I’ve got one,” she says.

Are Madison Marilla and Tyler White still together?

Newcomer Marilla found a connection with White and they are still together, she confirmed in an interview with TODAY.com.

She shares she has moved to Plant City, Florida, to be closer to White and has made a new group of friends. “I used to be completely lonely before being in a relationship. I would say I’m not as lonely,” Marilla says.

Marilla reflected on the first time her parents met her new beau — and the PDA. “My parents, they’re very happy. They had no idea that when Tyler and I greeted each other, that we’d be kissing each other,” she says.

What she’s learned from being in a relationship is that differences between partners are OK.

“Not every person is going to be just like you. He’s not the male carbon copy of me. Tyler likes surprises, and that’s something I don’t care for. Like I’m somebody like schedule, routine, predictability,” Marilla says.

She also says, “I’m more outgoing than Tyler is. Like, he’s able to carry a conversation, but, but he still, he’s more shy than I am, right? And that’s a challenge we do have as a couple.”

Are Pari Kim and Tina Zhu Xi Caruso still together?

An aficionado of the Boston transit, Kim went into the show looking for her “T Princess” — someone to cheer on passing trains with. She found what she calls her “perfect match” in a woman named Tina Zhu Xi Caruso.

Their first few dates, and their undeniable instant connection, are captured in the show.

“I love her. We share a lot of the same energy and the quirks and enthusiasm, and that’s what I love. She just matches my vibe,” Kim says of Caruso.

She credits the show for bringing love into her life.

“I’m very grateful to ‘Love on the Spectrum,’ because it just opened up a whole new set of doors for me that I don’t know if I would have been able to have,” she says.

Why ‘Love on the Spectrum’ Season 3 had so many couples, according to the show’s creators

The most recent third season has a record number of couples. As for why this season is such a win when it comes to making matches? “It’s a mystery!” producer O’Clery says in an interview with TODAY.com.

Part of it, he says, might come down to the cast members returning for another season. “They’re getting more and more confident in themselves and their dating and relationship journey,” he says.

Then again, both newcomers also found relationships. Producer Karina Holden thinks it could be because the show’s success helps participants “know what to expect.”

“Whereas when we were warming up, everyone was like, ‘How is this going to work?’ Now they’ve seen the success and they’re ready for it,” she says.

O’Clery says that when it comes to setting up potential couples, the producers create the matches themselves.

“We don’t always get it right, you know. But sometimes we’ll match somebody and think they might get on — and it’s absolute fireworks and sparks,” O’Clery says of playing matchmaker.

While the show hasn’t been renewed for Season 4, O’Clery says to expect more of the heartwarming moments in the future.

“If we’re lucky enough to keep making the show, it’s just about continuing to find new people and introduce audiences to new participants, expanding the people’s views of what diversity on the autism spectrum means and continuing to send out a message that everyone on the spectrum is very different. You can never make assumptions about someone based on their label,” he says.
