Karol G is sharing a closer look at what makes her the superstar she is in her new Netflix documentary, “Karol G: Tomorrow Was Beautiful.”
On April 22, the streamer released the first trailer for the film and announced the premiere date.
The title, which translates to “Mañana Fue Muy Bonito,” is a nod to many of the singer’s past projects: her 2023 album, “Mañana Será Bonito,” mixtape “Bichota Season” and her accompanying tour.
While announcing the documentary, Karol wrote in Spanish on her Instagram, “Una historia de sueños que parecía inalcanzable,” which translates to, “A story about dreams that seemed unattainable.”

Directed by Cristina Costantini, “Tomorrow Was Beautiful” tells the story of Karol G’s humble beginnings in Medellín, Colombia and her rise to fame. The film also features a behind-the-scenes perspective of her recent record-breaking stadium tour, which kicked off in 2023 and concluded in 2024.
“Karol G was told her dream was too big, that she was the wrong gender, and from the wrong place, to ever be a global star. But only fools bet against a bichota,” the film’s synopsis reads.

In the clip, Karol talks about being told that her dream of becoming a global superstar, especially in the reggaeton genre, wasn’t for her. Thanks to her Latin community, she says, she made it to where she is today — but that wasn’t without highs and lows.
“The fact that I’m a woman was already a huge obstacle for my career,” Karol says in Spanish in the trailer. “Everyone could see that I was at the top of my career, but inside, I felt like I was losing who I really was.”
