Education Dept. executive order sparks legal challenges

The American Federation of Teachers and two Massachusetts school districts have filed a lawsuit against President Donald Trump and Education Secretary Linda McMahon over plans to dismantle the Education Department. The lawsuit, filed in US District Court for the District of Massachusetts, alleges that mass layoffs and the executive order to close the department are unlawful and harm students and educators.
