Cecily Strong is a mom!
The former “Saturday Night Live” cast member, 41, announced the birth of her first child, a baby girl, April 10 on Instagram. Strong shared a photo of herself napping next to her snoozing daughter, who was covered in a yellow blanket in her bassinet.
Next to the pair, Strong’s dog was seen resting in a fluffy gray dog bed.
“Me and my girls. It’s been a week and a day with my beautiful squirmy baby girl,” Strong captioned the image. “I recognize all her little squirms and kicks from when she was on the other side of me and now I get to say ‘see what I was talking about!’
“She makes Robert Deniro faces and snorts when she is super determined on the boob,” Strong joked. “She’s gonna be stronger than me in about a week.”
Strong went on to call her newborn daughter’s “squeaks and sighs” her “favorite noises on earth.” She added that seeing her baby girl’s full head of dark hair “made me scream ‘whoo hoo!’ while pushing.”
“And I’ve been screaming Whoo hoo every day since because she’s absolutely perfect and I won the lottery,” she added.
Though she experienced a “relatively easy birth” thanks to a “glorious epidural,” Strong said she was now feeling the pain of childbirth. “I guess I’ll be healing for a while no matter what kind of magical thinking I did beforehand about being back on the Peloton or not eating cookies every day or whatever other hilarious ideas I may have had pre World Changing Forever Day April 2nd,” she wrote.
“I’m so in love and so tired it’s like the greatest dream but it’s real,” she added.

Strong concluded her announcement by calling her fiancé the “best dad” and the “best partner.”
“He is a diapering/swaddling/bottle washing/breakfast cooking/medicine picker upper/tech support with Baby Brezza handling/dog cuddling so she never feels left out/breastfeeding and pumping helping pro and is at this moment wearing the baby and listening to classical music for babies,” she wrote.
Strong’s famous friends congratulated her in the comments of her announcement.
“SNL” star Kenan Thompson left a row of red hearts, while former cast member Ana Gasteyer wrote, “Awww this is wonderful!!! Sending you so much love and sleep.”
Amy Schumer also chimed in, writing, “You did it!”
Former “Top Chef” host Padma Lakshmi joked, “Congratulations it only gets better!! (Until adolescence that is).”
Strong announced she was pregnant with her first child in November 2024 when she shared images of her baby bump.
