Teachers see competition as motivation for students

A majority of teachers use competition to motivate students, according to a LinkedIn poll by Education Week, which found that 61% of respondents use competition to motivate students and 16% do so somewhat. The survey found gender differences in how competition motivates students: 26% of teachers said boys are motivated “a lot” by competition, compared to 15% for girls.
