Malcolm is still in the middle.
On April 22, Frankie Muniz posted a photo of himself on X with “Malcolm in the Middle” co-stars Bryan Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek, who played his parents on the beloved comedy series.
“Always good to have Mom and Dad around!” Muniz captioned the photo, which featured him flanked by Cranston and Kaczmarek on either side of him.
The photo comes as the show’s reboot gets off the ground. Muniz has been a professional race car driver for nearly two decades, but is returning to his entertainment roots in the new “Malcolm in the Middle” series.
Disney+ announced the reboot last December, with four new episodes to come.
“I have been waiting for this moment for 18 years,” Muniz said in an Instagram video shared by the streaming platform. “Let’s find out where Malcolm and his family are now.”
“It’s been 25 years since we premiered ‘Malcolm in the Middle,’” Cranston said. “I’m so excited that I may have peed — just a little bit.”
“We’re very, very excited about coming back together and seeing what this family has been up to,” Kaczmarek said.

A winner of seven Emmy Awards, “Malcolm in the Middle” aired on Fox for seven seasons between 2000 and 2006.
In an April 12 Instagram post, Muniz wrote that he will “start shooting Malcolm tomorrow!!”
On April 19, he posted a short video of him with fans at DesertCon in Mexico that said “Mexico loves Malcolm” over the screen.
“I can’t wait for everyone to see the new episodes!” he captioned the clip.
