Carlos Santana postponed a planned show in San Antonio, Texas, on April 22 after experiencing dehydration.
“It is with profound disappointment that I have to inform you all that tonight’s show in San Antonio has been postponed,” his manager, Michael Vrionis, said in a statement shared on Facebook by Majestic and Empire Theatres.
“Mr. Santana was at the venue (Majestic Theatre) preparing for tonight’s show when he experienced an event that was determined to be dehydration,” Vrionis continued. He has been “taken in for observation” in San Antonio, the post said.
His manager added that the decision to postpone was made “out of an abundance of caution” and for the “health of Mr. Santana.”
“He is doing well and is looking forward to coming back to San Antonio soon as well as continuing his US Tour,” Vrionis said.
The venue’s Facebook page also advised fans to hold onto their tickets, as a rescheduled show date would be announced “as soon as possible.”
Santana, 77, embarked on his Oneness Tour 2025 earlier this month in Highland, California. He has a handful of shows scheduled in Texas, Oklahoma and Tennessee in April before he kicks off the European leg of the tour in Lodz, Poland, in June.

This isn’t the first time Santana has delayed a performance due to a medical issue in recent years.
In July 2022, the rock legend collapsed on stage during a show in Clarkston, Michigan. The musician wrote on Facebook after the incident that he had suffered from dehydration.
“To one and all, thank you for your precious prayers,” he wrote. “Forgot to eat and drink water, so I (was) dehydrated and passed out. blessings and miracles to you all.”
In January, he also postponed several weeks of shows at his Las Vegas residency at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino after experiencing an “accidental fall” at his home in Hawaii, his manager shared on the guitarist’s official website.
“I am sorry to say that Carlos was out taking a walk at his vacation home in Kauai. He took a hard fall, and he broke his little finger on his left hand,” Vrionis said in a statement. “He had to have pins inserted in the finger. Unfortunately, he won’t be able to play guitar for approximately six weeks. Doctors do say that he will recuperate fully.”
It is unclear whether the Grammy-winning guitarist’s next scheduled show on April 23 in Sugar Land, Texas, will take place.
